Bella Taylor Designs began long before it had a real name.
In middle school, it was “Bella Taylor Art” — complete with cheap business cards I never actually handed out and shaky little timelapse videos of me painting and lettering. I was the kid constantly creating: painting canvases in my bedroom, asking for art supplies for birthdays, and filling notebooks with sketches and ideas.
As I grew older, so did my love for art in all its forms.
While studying Graphic Design at Samford University, my professors encouraged me to expand my craft and explore what made my work uniquely mine. What started as “Bella Taylor Art” slowly evolved into Bella Taylor Designs as I realized I didn’t just love fine art — I loved branding, storytelling, stationery, calligraphy, and creating meaningful experiences through design.
During college, I painted and created stationery for local markets and pop-ups, learning what people connected with and what brought them joy. Somewhere in the middle of all of that, I had the honor of designing wedding invitations for one of my roommates — along with hand-addressing each envelope in calligraphy — and that experience unexpectedly opened the door into the wedding world.
From there, things continued to grow. I incorporated wedding stationery into my senior project, leaned further into calligraphy and paper design, and began building a business that felt deeply personal and creatively fulfilling.
One of the biggest turning points came during a portfolio review with several established designers in Birmingham. As we talked through my work, multiple people told me the same thing: my art and calligraphy weren’t side hobbies — they were something I truly needed to pursue.
At first, that completely overwhelmed me. But over time, it helped me realize something important: the Lord didn’t create me to “pick a lane.”
I’m a graphic designer, but I’m also a fine artist, calligrapher, and wedding stationer — and Bella Taylor Designs became the place where all of those things could exist together.
Today, my work is rooted in creating things that feel meaningful, beautiful, and personal — whether that’s through a wedding suite, a painting, a brand identity, or hand-lettered details that help people feel celebrated and seen.
